The RNAS Yeovilton Commando Helicopter Force was welcomed home to a bright and sunny Wincanton by the traders and residents of Wincanton and district. The traders did us proud by decorating windows and walls with Union flags and White Ensigns.

The morning started with a service at the local Anglican church with the service led by local vicar Nigel Feaver and guest speaker Andrew Hillier the RNAS chaplain. Andrew used to be the curate at the Anglican church in Castle Cary. Before leaving to join the navy as a chaplain Andrew was also a trustee of a local church based youth project called The Linx (prophetic) Project, working with young students in King Arthur's, Ansford and sexey's schools.

After the service the troops marched behind their own band up Church Street to market Place where the parade was brought to attenion before a huge gatherign of towns people and traders for the presentation of a scroll to their commanding officer by Wincanton Mayor David Marsh. In return the Mayor was presented with a special plaque by the commanding officer.
