John and his wife Jane have lived in Wincanton for over 30 years. For most of that time John has been self employed, originally as a founding partner of Colbert Smith estate agents. In January 2000 John took a different direction forming Link-2 as a web design and IT business. John's son David is now a full partner in the business with him. John was a founder member of WBT. For me it is an honour and a great priviledge to work with all the committee. They are without exception a wonderful bunch of friends who share a common passion to see the business community in this area thriving and adding to the community as a whole. It is down to their hard work and loyal support and encouragement that WBT is making great progress within the business community. My heartfelt thanks to them all.

Mandy is one of our newer members and only took up the position of secretary at the last AGM. This is already proving to be a wise choice. Apart from being a wife and mother Mandy runs a local business called "The Office Elf". I've lived in Wincanton since 2004 and I'm WBT's Committee Secretary. I've run The Office Elf since 2007. I provide virtual office services, including secretarial and administrative support, copy writing and proofreading, for small to medium-sized businesses. I think Wincanton's a great little town and I'm pleased to be a part of the local business community.

Jim, bless his cotton socks, is a retired banker, who at the last AGM, joined WBT under The Wincanton Museum banner. He has jumped right in at the deep end by agreeing to become WBT Treasurer. He is already worth every penny we aren't paying for his services. Jim spent all of his working life, some 41 years, employed by a leading clearing bank. For the last 20-years he was a manager retiring in 2007 after being a senior commercial account manager. The majority of the time he worked in the Thames Valley (Reading, Maidenhead and Newbury) and has a vast experience in business. With his wife Sue he moved to Wincanton shortly after his retirement and now involves himself on a voluntary basis with various local good causes.

Sarah joined us on the committee at the last AGM and brings enthusiasm and dogged determination to the table. She has built up Wincanton's own Optician's practice giving a very high level of eye care to the people of the area. She celebrated 5 years as SGO Eye care earlier last month.

I'm Steve Stapleton & I run Wincanton Wholefoods. I've been in the town for about 8 years and like to keep a LOW profile!! Steve was one of the founder members of WBT and has been a rock solid supporter since the beginning. Steve has built up his local business (Wincanton Wholefoods) in The high Street, and attracts customers not just from the town, but from far and wide.
